It all started on Black Friday...
WARNING: This Audiobook Will Make You Cancel Your Holiday Travel ✈️,
“I have always loved blizzards, if only because of the
driving experience—which is definitely an acquired taste.”
“As for LSD, I highly recommend it.”
— HUNTER S. THOMPSON
The holiday season has begun! The American phenomenon known as “Black Friday,” takes place this week, as does something else… Candi’s TERRIBLE journey in my dystopian, trippy, and surreal, dark comedy novel Acid Christmas, which is now out in audiobook and available wherever audiobooks are found! 🎧 🌨️
If you begin the novel this Friday, you can listen along with the sequence of events in time with how they occur in the book.
The term Black Friday, by the way, was first used in 1869 to describe a financial crisis, and fittingly, one of the strangers Candi meets in Acid Christmas is a Pakistani/Belgian finance manager named Franck, but will he be naughty or nice? And will anyone make it home for Christmas?
Haha.

Acid Christmas was described by one reader as, "Home Alone meets Bird Box in an apocalyptic blizzard."
I wrote this book with the pandemic in mind, and I set it in my least favorite airport on earth: Toronto’s Pearson Airport. I wanted to explore situations where the government and everyone truly don’t know what to do, don’t understand what is happening, and can’t act at scale to solve the crisis at hand.
It’s five strangers, one airport, a book of acid, and an otherworldly storm.
It’s like Station Eleven and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas had a baby in a blizzard.
And baby, it’s cold outside…

The Acid Christmas audiobook is read by Harlesha Taylor, who was selected as the narrator for her excellent ability to perform the different accents required for the diverse and international cast of characters in the novel.
I hope you enjoy the book!
And thanks for reading this email! I try not to do too many “announcement/news posts” but I do like to let you know what I’ve got going on, like this audiobook release!
Next week, I hope to share my essay about “Scheduled Departures,” that you all voted for in my last reader poll. In the meantime, if you celebrate Thanksgiving, have a wonderful Turkey Day!
Now You
Have you read Acid Christmas? What books or movies would you compare it to? What was your favorite part?
If you’ve read the book and haven’t left a review on Goodreads or Amazon, I’d love for you to leave a review. Reviews help other readers find my books.
That’s all. Ciao for now!
