>> Cable TV will continue to die and a big player in the alt media will buy a major network.

I can see this. I think legacy media is kind of back, or at least alt media is becoming more similar to it

Yes! I don’t have a guess on the specific details, but I feel like some big consolidation, bankruptcy, or merger will happen soon, some kind of revamp.

I could also see the Blaze, which isn’t really alt media, pivoting to TV. They’re killing it with streamers.

Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) have every right to say what they like about Israel and the genocide of Palestinians as elected members of the US House of Representatives; they never took an oath to serve Israel . . .

I voted for Ron Desantis (R-FL) to be governor of Florida, not ambassador to Israel.

The recently ousted Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Congressman Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who took at least a dozen votes to get elected speaker, traveled to Israel immediately upon his election, declaring to the Israeli Knesset that the USA is steadfastly committed to supporting Ukraine in their war against Russia . . .

Was he running for speaker of the Israeli Knesset too?

Following his ouster . . . McCarthy (R-CA) traveled abroad again, this time to England, and expressed his open contempt for the white Republicans who make up the majority of the GOP and praised Democrats for their diversity during a debate at Oxford in the wake of his ouster as House Speaker . . .

Is he now running for the Prime Minister of the U.K.?

Nevertheless, he is free to go on media tours bashing white people and lobbying for Israel, because he has now resigned from the US House of Representatives . . . I can only conclude that the collective RINO butthurt over former Speaker McCarthy is all about the Israelis who have hijacked the American deep state war machine.

It has become so painfully obvious, especially where you have someone like Nikki Haley wagging her finger and shouting down Vivek Ramaswamy in a presidential debate on live national television when the questions of this Ukrainian war against Russia and any mention of Israel are concerned, that the United States government has become a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Israeli Political Action Committee.

Yikes! Lots of not great stuff on the way 😄 I have so many thoughts about so many of these, I will have to let them rest some before I come back. But the one thing I must say now: we are nowhere near sentient AI. In fact, 'AI' as it is not 'artificial intelligence,' rather it is 'accelerated ignorance.' Miles and miles into the future, if it ever happens at all. Chances are better we wipe everything we know off the planet first. Now, that's not to say people won't mistake something for sentient AI. That's been happening for a long time and will persist, likely in perpetuity. You know, sadly.

Yes! Happy new years! And I totally agree, but the ai sex pizza dolls will likely be convincing enough to pass as human conversationalist, albeit with annoying repeating scripts.

Love “accelerated ignorance” also.

Yes, convincing enough AI has been with us and will 'improve.' Meanwhile, humans become more inured to techno-sentience and machines just do what they're programmed to do.

I think you’re very correct. Plus, some humans aren’t as sharp as others...

Ok, I so agree that we are through the looking glass and that the most likely thing is not a Biden presidency, but beyond that, who knows...

I also think that most Americans don’t cares about Jan 6th. Only the furthest left people with the deepest hatred for Trump care. Many people think it was a protest, a constitutional right, and not an insurrection and so they see the arrest of participants as deeply unjust. This is the sentiment I often hear in Florida and Virginia, the two states I spend the most time in.

Love the dual citizenship resolution, also. I really need to get on mine. I’m eligible for Austrian citizenship, as well as my US, and could get Canadian as well, but I’ve been slacking on it for years out of fear that I’ll have to pay multiple sets of taxes, but I probably should do it, at least the Austrian one.

Okay, let's see if I can get into a few more of these. There's so many, Charlotte 😅It may take me all year to get through them.

Sub fatigue. I thought you meant, like, to newsletters, but it seems like you meant for streaming services. Personally I was a (relatively) early adopter and remain generally satisfied. I ditched cable before Netflix was a thing, and the only reason I've contemplated leaving streaming services is when they start to feel too much like cable. For example, football. American football. This is not something I want to see, ever. So if I didn't have Prime for other reasons, I'd have ditched it. Max is pushing it with all the sports and reality shit cluttering my menu. If they'd even give me a way to curate what I see, I'd be happier with them. But they won't. All those apps are pieces of junk, and I'm surprised they work at all.

Friends. Anyone have a few extra? 😫😅Kidding, kidding, mostly kidding. I have a ton of friends and am lucky enough to always have had friends and to make friends fairly easily. It's spending time with them that's tricky. As for friends over marriage, I mean. Marriage can suck really bad, but it can be very helpful, too. I think it depends a lot on who you're married to and why. Like your philosophy of marriage. I cannot say I am sad to see a decline in traditional marriages, though. Those tend to benefit men and cost women a lot.

Climate. What a shitstorm. Not just the literal global warming, but the discourse around all of it. Like most things in modern life, the solutions seem fairly straightforward and obvious. So it's not about solving the climate crisis or the housing crisis or any crisis other than how to effectively deal with psychopaths. We have not solved that one, and this is the problem of our age--and by 'our age' I mean recorded history. Indeed the recording of history itself may be, in part, a psychopathic act, but that's an off the cuff ob, so please don't hold me to it.

Okay, that's all I have today. Hope your week is off to a great start! Ciao!

Very interesting predictions that I could not even have thought of. The section on Friendships, especially around housing arrangements, have sparked my imagination and wish to explore further for entrepreneurial opportunities.

Haha did you read the bonus round? Some of those are even spicier! I have some Ozempic speculation included and some celebrity baby predictions.

Love your additions!

And you may be right about subscription fatigue. I think it also depends where you are as some places have had much bigger jumps in the cost of living than other places.

I've already got the fatigue. There are so many creators I love, and each asks for $5+ per month. I'd have to budget several hundred dollars to fund all of them, and I've designated that kind of money for living expenses.
