Same. Way too much editing. And I’m an overwriter so always a lot has to go. I’m experimenting now with Dean Wesley Smith’s habit of outlining as I go, as in after I write a chapter, I make a bullet point list of main story beats or details I need for consistency, so that I can then use that for help with editing later vs going through an entire unruly manuscript for the structural edit. So, trying that on the book I’m discovery writing now.
Not really. I just mess around with the few decks I’ve had over the years. Read about ideas for what they mean online. It’s a fun way to start stories, too, when you don’t have ideas. Do you have a favorite?
Ahh I’m so glad! I’ve been thinking the same about the I Ching. Don’t know too much about it myself. Though I have read Man on a High Castle, so I get the sense of how those fictional characters used it.
Thanks again for sharing! Glad it resonated with you. 🥰
Total intuitive/discovery/pantster here too.
Woo hoo! Have you always been that way? Or have you dabbled in other methods?
Always. But I often beat myself up because I do wish I was better at planning. I end up having to do a lot of editing afterwards.

That sounds good! Will you have a spreadsheet or notebook?
I’ve been doing it digitally in Google docs for the outline and also duplicating it in Scrivener on the cards that go with each chapter.
Super organised. I hope it works for you. 🙌🏻
Intuitive here, too. I’ve had fun following suggestions from tarot cards when I’m stuck. Have a good one!
So cool! Do you have a favorite deck?

Loved this so much. Just shared it some
people, too. I’m feeling very called to Discovery Life-ing lately so learning a term for
it feels nice and cozy.
And I guess I really do need to check out the I Ching finally.
