This was a fun read, and you have a very smart daughter! Also, perhaps some of us will use AI to be re-parented by a more healed and whole digital mother.
We just completed an operations plan for this year and I responsible for our communications. I specifically included this year a deliverable on AI and the use in internal and external communications. There is one particular staff who is using in IN REPLACE of herself. In our emails, in her work, she credits ChatGPT but she has lost her own self. Her content is contrived, lacking personal responsibility, and frankly it just sucks. Her last email gave me no further clarity to the situation and I just had to say, 'lets just talk about it at the management meeting'.
However, as I've been dealing with relationship issues, I've been taking entire text messages and running in through and giving context and saying 'is this passive aggressive' or 'am I over-reacting'. However I mostly use it as a polisher to my work with a pretty unelaborate like 'make this better' and it usually gets the job done.
Just catching up on my Substack reading after a hiatus, but I want to say I found this excellent and hilarious. And the Sam Altman piece is a great addition too, and yes, I am old and to me ChatGPT is not a mom or a friend, just an underpaid research assistant.
It was fun! but I’m with your kiddo :)
❤️❤️❤️😎

That’s a great point on the re-parenting!
And thanks for the compliment, my daughter will appreciate that! Meanwhile, I worry not using it will cause her to get behind.

Haha thank you. And for sure more of an unpaid assistant than a mom. 😂😂😂 100%
Fun read! I feel like I'm in something similar to when social media was awesome before it became a nightmare.
Oh god you’re probably right.
Your daughter is 100% right.
This was both hilarious and disturbing however. I wonder if it would be comforting for someone who lost their mother?
