Didn't know that about Crichton, that he wrote that much and did med school simultaneously, that's nuts. I get tired if I write a couple of pages hehe... and I'm not going through a gruelling high level education at the same time.
Very wild the man's habits! He was definitely a productivity machine. Then went on to write the show ER, which most people forget that the same man who did Jurassic Park also did ER and Westworld, and even randomly the movie Twister.
I mean I get it with Philip K. Dick, he was literally a speedfreak who wrote pulpy stuff for money, until he didn't. But people who don't need drugs to be insanely productive have my admiration.
I would love that! Though I'm no expert compared to some, but it is a topic that has fascinated me for years. Let me know how you like Travels. I should read it again. I really loved it back when I read it.

Same! Like meth is one thing, but just sheer obsession is another. Crichton used the money from the books to pay for med school.
Looking forward to your Crichton deep dive, he was a true visionary and creative powerhouse.
Yes! Underrated author and movie/tv writer.
I love this. Thanks. Also, I’m going to go order Travels. I wish we could chat about the future of VR, sometime. I have so many questions!

I’ll let you know. Have a good one!
