Hmm good point… I do mostly buy online, and that’s because the book’s topic fascinates me. I mostly read non-fiction, so it’s more about the topic itself. I do make use of features like “peek inside” or Google around to see if I can find excerpts, just to make sure I find the writing itself engaging.
Same! I’m usually trying to read at least a short sample of the text before I commit, though not always. Sometimes I’ll just go on tons of five star reviews or like a podcast recommendation etc.
